Baseball cleats are built to bite into dirt and grass. Soccer cleats are built for continuous movement and ball interaction on the pitch.

Do not assume molded baseball cleats become soccer-safe just because they are plastic

The outsole geometry is still sport-specific. A baseball toe spike or diamond-oriented pattern can be inappropriate for soccer even when no metal is present. Conversely, soccer cleats may lack the push-off traction a baseball player expects on dirt.

Use soccer cleats for soccer and baseball cleats for baseball.

The sports ask the outsole to do different jobs. If a player participates in both, two sport-specific pairs are the cleanest solution whenever budget allows.
